Ella’s Bacon Mac & Cheese: Good For The Soul

Nothing quite compares to a comforting dish of mac & cheese and when bacon is involved, it is my definition of heaven. I went to Ella’s Folk Art Cafe in Seminole Heights for their famous ‘Soul Food Sunday‘ last week and tried their Bacon Mac & Cheese. Let me just say….it was life changing!

It was my first visit to Ella’s and being that it was Soul Food Sunday, I figured there was no better place for this sinner to be than praising the lard at Ella’s. The fact that I had not yet been to Ella’s was just pure sacrilege and I had some serious repenting to do. My eyes were immediately drawn to the Bacon Mac & Cheese and I figured if I was going to be bad then I was going to be really be bad. It came out piping hot and smelled insanely delicious. As I scooped a forkful of the cheesy goodness, it was appealing to all my senses. This beautiful dish smelled incredible and melted in my mouth. The bacon was a tasty bonus and further accentuated the amazing taste. I gotta say, their mac & cheese is pretty dang delicious.

I enjoyed a Bloody Ella with my mac & cheese and it was the perfect duo.  Made with Hangover Chipotle Vodka, rimmed with Ernie’s infamous BBQ Rub & garnished with Hickory Smoked Rib, this is the ultimate Bloody Mary! The rib really takes this to the next level and I would go as far to say that this is the best Bloody Mary I have had in Tampa. It is THAT good!

I had such a great time at Ella’s for Soul Food Sunday that I went back again yesterday and brought my kids. I will be featuring our visit in another post this week.

I hope you all enjoy some awesome mac & cheese this week! Keep sending me your recommendations, I am enjoying them!
