Wine Wednesdays at Catch Twenty-Three

There is nothing I enjoy more than a glass of wine in a relaxed environment and Catch Twenty-Three in Westchase is the perfect place. Nestled in the cozy Westpark Village on Montague, Catch Twenty-Three is, in my opinion, the epitome of a Floridian restaurant. With island music, airy decor and the scent of  fresh seafood along with Caribbean and Latin inspired dishes, Catch Twenty-Three is one of Tampa Bay’s premier dining establishments. Having dined there twice, I have fallen in love with their menu and relaxed setting. This past weekend, I headed over to Catch Twenty-Three for a glass of wine and some appetizers after a hectic week.

I started with a glass of Sycamore Lane Chardonnay (California) and enjoyed it with their incredible Lobster Escargot. A rich and flavorful blend of lobster, butter, fresh Parmesan and Romano cheeses and then topped with Panko bread crumbs, this dish made my day. Served bubbling hot and with crostini, it is the ultimate appetizer in that it is decadent in flavor and perfect for sharing. The fresh chunks of lobster melt in your mouth and leave you wanting more.  I thoroughly enjoyed it and wound up having it as my dinner since I was not super hungry.  Next I had a glass of Handcraft Pinot Noir (California) which is a delightful wine with cherry, vanilla and strawberry aromas and hints of black cherry, spice, vanilla and chocolate flavors. Medium bodied, this wine is great on its own or paired with food.

I am very impressed with the wine selection at Catch Twenty-Three and imagine my delight when I learned that they offer a special Wine Lovers Wednesdays each week where ladies can enjoy unlimited glasses from select wines for just $15.  Now that is a fabulous deal and guys can enjoy the same special for $20. I think I know where I will be headed next Wednesday. With a wonderful selection ranging from Sparkling and Alternative Whites to Cabernet, Pinot Noir and Unique Reds, their menu offers something for every wine lover. Hats off to Catch Twenty-Three for making my Saturday evening memorable and for offering such a diverse menu that continues to impress my taste buds.  Be sure to check back next week as I will be featuring them again for another remarkable menu item.  Cheers to Catch Twenty-Three!  You are a quaint place  serves up big flavor in a beautiful setting.
