I Love to “Wing It” at the Lodge
Happy Wingsday! I am sure most of you have turkey on the brain, as do I, but today is Wingsday and I have a great place to share with you. As you may know, I recently went to The Lodge in South Tampa for the first time and in addition to the delicious discoveries I made during my meal, I tried their wings and was very pleased!
With a nice selection of wings sauces, their wings are fried nice and crispy and can be ordered in either 6 or 12 pieces. Wings are served with celery and your choice of blue cheese or ranch. You can choose from Buffalo, BBQ and Hot-N-Sweet Asian. All are delicious and if I had to pick a favorite, it would be the Hot-N-Sweet Asian. It is one of those sauces that leaves a tasty impression.
Simply put, this sauce rocks! Nothing excites me more than a sauce with a nice kick that ends on a sweet note. I love how you can see the chunks of pickled red chili in the sauce. Sweet and spicy, this sauce will leave you wanting more. Pair this with a nice draft and you will have the perfect duo.
Wings have become a comfort food for me and The Lodge is the epitome of a comfort spot. When you walk in, you immediately get a warm and cozy feeling. During my visit, I felt über relaxed as I enjoyed my meal and watched college games on TV. When I think of wings, I think of sports, leisure time, cocktails and friends. All of these things fit The Lodge to a “T.” Aside from their great weekend specials, they offer WTF? Wednesdays where you can get not only a dozen wings for $5, but also your choice of $5 burgers, sushi, full pizzas and select draft liters. Can you think of a better place to spend Hump Day?
