Boneless Buffalo Wings at Taste of Boston

Happy Wingsday! Can you believe I have been doing this weekly feature for 13 weeks now? Yep, I have tried wings at 13 different places and I still have a VERY long way to go. Out of the 13 places, there are 3 that are tied for my favorite, so it looks like I will be doing some re-visits. :)

This week’s feature was very last-minute.  I had a hectic week and weekend and before I knew it, it was Wingsday Eve and I had a few hours to find a place to visit.  Since I had my kids, I needed to go somewhere close to home that wasn’t a bar.  As we were leaving Target, my son told me that we should go to Taste of Boston at Ballast Point Park and that they had boneless wings. Rocco is only 6 years old and he sure knows his food!  For those that are not familiar, Ballast Point Park is located in the gorgeous Ballast Point neighborhood in South Tampa and right along the bay.  With gorgeous views of the downtown Tampa skyline, this historical treasure is one of Tampa’s most beautiful landmarks. Taste of Boston  is a casual, New England style seafood restaurant located on the water next to the park.  I have only tried their food once and usually just pop in with the kids for a drink or ice cream after spending time at the park. I have always heard great things about their food so I was excited to try their wings.

My son was right! As I looked over their menu I saw they offered boneless wings in both Buffalo and BBQ. I was craving something spicy so I went with a small order of the Buffalo and my kids ordered shrimp.

I was excited since this would be my first feature on boneless wings and I am always excited to try different versions of Buffalo sauce. When my order arrived, I was impressed with the nice size of the boneless wings. Each piece was thick, juicy and fried to perfection. They were tossed in a fairly spicy Buffalo sauce that wasn’t bad but wasn’t spectacular.  I was hoping for maybe a New England twist on the Buffalo sauce or something a little different. All in all, they were good and very reasonably priced for the portion.  I wasn’t super hungry so I will have to try their BBQ on my next visit.

I was very impressed with the presentation of the wings.  Rather than just serve them in a disposable container, they are placed on a square plate which is a nice touch.

My son LOVED his fried shrimp and fries.  He is a big fan of their food and loves sitting outside enjoying the view.

We had a great time and I am glad I got to try their wings.  If you have not yet been, I highly recommend both Ballast Point Park and Taste of Boston. To take a look at their menu, click here.  There are many other things I really want to try like their Ipswich Whole Belly Clams, Maine Lobster Rolls and Atlantic Haddock.  I am so blessed to live so close to such a beautiful part of Tampa Bay and my kids love spending time at the park.  Until next WINGSDAY, have a great week everyone!

Yum! We’ve only ordered ice cream from there as well, haven’t been able to talk Garrett into eating there. Maybe this will change his mind :D I’m eager to hear what the three favorite wing places are!
