Good ‘Ole Fashioned Wings at Charann’s Tavern
Happy Wingsday! I am really excited about today’s featured wing spot. Located at 6821 W. Hillsborough Ave. in Town N’ Country and known for their famous Steak Sandwich, is none other than Charann’s Tavern. Today was my first visit to Charann’s and it was an awesome experience. Before I go into detail about their wings, I must say that they make one of the best steak sandwiches I have ever had. I have had it several times over the last few years thanks in part to my boss who would bring me back one for lunch at the office. He has long been a fan of Charann’s Tavern and now I know why. In fact, Charann’s Cheesesteak is a Tampa Original. Made with thinly sliced, grilled steak on a fresh roll with white American cheese, grilled onions, tomatoes and your choice of peppers, it truly is in my opinion, the “Cheesesteak of the South.” It is so good that I will be doing a whole other feature on it very soon!
I have been wanting to go Charann’s Tavern for quite sometime and since I work only 2 miles away, I decided to go and try their wings for lunch today. As I walked in, I was pleasantly surprised. The entire place has a cool vibe and sports paraphernalia adorns the walls. I grabbed a stool at the bar and ordered some hot wings. As I sipped on my ice tea, I looked over their menu and saw so many things that I need to go back and try. I think I will soon become a regular!
The wings arrived and were just what I was craving. Served naked with your choice of Mild, Medium, Hot or BBQ and a side of Blue Cheese or Ranch, they are simple and delicious. I don’t think I have ever ordered wings naked and I was impressed. I actually got more flavor by dipping the wings into the sauce with less mess on my fingers. These are perfect for women!
Fried to perfection, the wings were incredible! Moist and tender with Southern flavor, I really enjoyed them. The only thing that would have made them better would have been a draft beer and a Steelers game, but I had to stick to ice tea since I was on my lunch break from the office. ;P
Charann’s Tavern has a nice selection of both draft and bottled beers as well as wine and Sangria. They have a weekday Happy Hour from 4pm – 7pm. In addition to their delicious wings and famous steak sandwich, they have an extensive menu with burgers, sandwiches, and plenty of tasty appetizers. I want to give a lucky reader a chance to go and check out this cool place that has become a Tampa landmark. I am giving away a gift card and to win, simply do any or each of the following.
