Labor Day Monday Market with T.K. Waugh’s “Que”
Happy Labor Day! Nothing spells Labor Day like some good “QUE” and I am sure many of you are getting ready to fire up the grill as we take the day to honor the social and economic achievements of American workers. Labor Day has long been a favorite day of mine, as it marks the end of the summer and the start of the NFL season. September through December is my favorite time of the year since my calendar is packed with holiday parties and plenty of Steelers football. Sundays are my day to spend in the kitchen and experiment with new recipes. I love discovering locally made food products and I am excited to share a line of BBQ sauces made in Clearwater, FL by Ashlynn’s Gourmet.
Recently I had the distinct pleasure of meeting Annthea Waugh, founder of Ashlynn’s Gourmet, during an event at one of my favorite places in Tampa, Datz. The event was a launch party for Lux Magazine and everyone in attendance got to sample several yummy products by Ashlynn’s Gourmet. I was blown away by the products and after meeting Annthea, I knew we would get along fabulously. We met for coffee and she gave me several samples of her products, including bottles of “QUE” for her T.K. Waugh’s line, which are named after her dad. How cool is that!
With four delicious flavors: Barnhouse, Drunken Peach, Baked Apple and Hot Island, these sauces will take you back to a time when life was much simpler and lazy summer days were marked with family BBQ’s and homemade goodness. The possibilities are endless with these sauces and you can use them on everything from pork and chicken to shrimp and salmon. My favorite sauce is the Drunken Peach and I love it over grilled chicken topped with fresh grilled peaches.
I am thrilled with all of the products I have tried thus far from Ashlynn’s Gourmet and will be sharing many more with you over the next few months. In honor of Labor Day, I am giving away a gift pack including one of each sauce and some grilling goodies. To enter, simply do any or all of the following and each item will count as an entry. Be sure to leave a comment on this post telling which items you have completed. I will pick a winner on September 30th.
