Island Girl Cakes

Cake pops are the best way to have your cake and eat it too.   They are not only little pieces of heaven on a stick, but are perfect for parties and events.  Cake pops can be created in so many shapes and flavors and will make your event extra special.  Tampa has an amazing “cake pop queen” and she just so happens to be a member of Working Women of Tampa Bay.  I have ordered cake pops from her twice and both times she went above and beyond what I expected.  Her company is Island Girl Cakes and the woman behind these delicious creations is Melissa Ramacco.

I met Melissa at a luncheon for Working Women of Tampa Bay and we hit it off immediately. She brought some of her cake pops for everyone to try and I was so impressed by both the flavor and presentation that I decided to place an order for my son Rocco’s fifth birthday party.  Tired of ordering large cakes and always having so much left over,  I wanted to make his party extra special and give everyone something sweet and unique.  Rocco loves Thomas the Train and I asked Melissa is she could create Thomas the Train cake pops and boy did she!  Everyone raved about them and the kids loved them as well.  I am sure the restaurant staff was also happy since there was a lot less clean-up  after a child’s birthday party.

My son ate his so quickly that I was unable to take his photo, but here is my daughter, Gianna Bella, enjoying her Thomas the Train cake pop.

I was so pleased with Island Girl Cakes that I promptly placed an order for my next event which was a “Yellow Party” in support of my book/blog project, The Lemon Drop Ladies.  Melissa made yellow, lemon cake pops and they were divine!  They tied in so perfectly with the theme of my party and were a huge hit with everyone.  I could not have been happier!

Island Girl Cakes offers classic, gourmet, custom and holiday cake pops.  Classic cake pops are available in a variety of flavors and colors.  They can also be decorated with colorful sprinkles and delicious drizzle.  Classic flavors include  Totally Solid Chocolate, Lava Red Velvet, Lemon Wave and Vanilla Paradise. Here are some classics:

"Somewhere Over the Rainbow"

"Valentine Cake Pops"

Island Girl Cakes has some heavenly flavors for their gourmet pops such as Grasshopper Chocolate Mint, Peanut Butter Chocolate Delight, Cookies and Cream and my favorite, Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough!  If you are looking to give someone a sweet treat, gourmet pops are perfect!

Custom cake pops are her specialty and Melissa is gifted with incredible talent.  Just about any theme can be captured in the form of a  custom cake pop. Weddings, baby showers, animals and cartoon characters are just a few.  Here are some of her fabulous creations:

“Bride and Groom”

"Dora, Backpack and Diego"

"Lingerie Party"

These are just a few  of her custom creations.  To see more, including her Holiday Cake Pops, be sure to visit her website Island Girl Cakes as well as her Facebook page by clicking here.  You can also “pop” by Carrollwood Deli for a delicious lunch and pick up a cake pop for dessert.
